Objectives 1. To demonstrate the use of air cycle with air impingement heat transfer to produce a totally integrated process for food heating followed by immediate rapid refrigeration. 2. To demonstrate a combined hot water generation/rapid freezing system based on the air cycle 3. To prove to potential users and system suppliers that air cycle heating/cooling systems have considerable commercial potential for food manufacturing applications.
Abstract The aim of this project is to verify the potential of air cycle under semi-industrial conditions. To achieve this a highly versatile system needs to be produced as quickly as possible
